Bioreactors: a new concept in environmental treatments

The activity of AERIS focuses in the design and implementation of bioreactors, systems for the depuration of waste waters and off gases which rely on the use of microorganisms. These systems:

• guarantee a pollutant removal efficiency comparable to those offered by physico-chemical technologies (commonly > 99 %), both for liquid and gaseous effluents.

• have significantly lower investment and operating costs.

• have a longer life span and stability.

do not generate hazardous chemicals, contrary to some physico-chemical alternatives.

do not need neither expensive nor potentially hazardous chemical compounds.

Aditionally, AERIS develops the following environmental services:

• Environmental consultancy.

Assessment of the quality of liquid and/or gaseous effluents, according to current laws.

• Physico-chemical characterization and analysis of liquid and gaseous effluents.

Assessment of technological alternatives to fix non-sustainable situations.

Retrofitting of current treating technologies in order to adapt to new scenarios or to correct their performance.

• Monitoring and control of the performance of treating systems.

• Development of formative courses to managers of facilities which include waste water or waste gas treating systems..

• Design of control systems for gas and liquid treating devices.
